Tips on how to stay healthy in NYSC camp.
Do you know that if you do not make it an habit of celebrating yourself, you’d always think you are not enough?
I mean, people celebrating you is a really big deal and it’s part of what makes you feel proud of your achievements but have you tried evaluating yourself and realizing that you actually did the job you are being praised for?
My dear friend, it’s a whole different level of joy, you should try it sometimes.
Happy last day of the week! How did the week go for you? I spent mine hoping that everyday was the last day of the week😂. But here we are, finally on a Friday 💃🏽
So how are you, would you like to share how your week went? I’d be more than glad to hear it. Reply me.

So it has come to my hearing that new sets of corps members would be going to camp soon. And with this information, I have decided to take it upon myself to share tips to majorly the lady corpers on how to stay healthy and survive the harsh conditions they might encounter in camp.
If you are a man, don’t be jealous, your own time will soon come. Notwithstanding, you will still get one or two information that will help you.
Here we go, I’ll start by answering the top 3 most asked questions by ladies in camp and their respective answers.
What kind of clothes should I pack? Stick to white T-shirts, shorts, and comfortable sneakers. Also bring a few casual outfits for after drills, a cardigan or hoodie for cold mornings, and sleepwear. Include innerwear, a wrapper, and slippers.
What sanitary products do I need? Bring enough pads/tampons, panty liners, and personal wipes. Hygiene is crucial in camp, especially with limited privacy.
How do I stay safe in a mixed-gender environment? Respect boundaries, avoid isolated areas, and stay with trusted female friends. Always lock your valuables and avoid sharing personal details with strangers too quickly.
Now the next is how to Survive Your Period in NYSC Camp Like a Pro
Pack More Than You Need: Include extra sanitary pads/tampons, wipes, disposable bags, and two pairs of panties for each day of your period.
Pain Relief: Bring over-the-counter painkillers like ibuprofen or paracetamol. A hot water bottle may help but might not be practical in camp—heat patches are a good alternative.
Stay Hydrated & Eat Well: Drink lots of water and avoid skipping meals, even if the camp food isn’t appealing.
Have a Hygiene Routine: Use wipes when toilets are messy, and always carry tissue, hand sanitizer, and an extra pad in your waist pouch.
I know these are not all the advice you need, but these will go a long way, kindly share with a corper, your name will appear in their appreciation story🤗.
Don’t forget what I said in the beginning of this letter, learn to celebrate yourself.
Enjoy your weekend!
With love,
Wura from The Health City.
