The rising rate of suicide in Nigeria
Last month, our Muslim brothers and sisters celebrated Eid ul Fitr, not only that, they gave us extra days to take off from work, but guess what? It’s our Christian sisters’ and brothers’ time 💃🏽.
It’s Easter season and the weekend has just gotten a lot better.
Hello My dear friend Welcome to a very significant friday, good friday. Where Christians all over the world gather together to celebrate the death of our Lord Jesus Christ. For my Christian readers, I pray that this season will remind us of who we really are in Christ and help us keep in mind that Jesus has paid for it all.
This week was a short one, all thanks to the public holiday, and by extension, the weekend is about to be long. I hope you plan to utilize the holiday properly.

My dear friend, When I see Suicide statistics, I see things like “suicide rate in the UK”, “suicide rate in the US” but do you know that the suicide rate is rapidly growing in Nigeria?
Yes, it’s not being talked about much but that doesn’t mean it’s not happening, and I am about to open your eyes to the unspoken truth about the incidence of Suicide in Nigeria.
Have you thought about the pressure that comes with keeping up with the society? I’m not even talking about wearing expensive cloths or spending money lavishly. I am talking about being able to afford basic amenities. The economy has gone down the loo and it is safe to say basic amenities are no longer basic.
Now, do you know how hard it is for some people to endure this burden? This exact reason is why some people lose all hope and decide to end it. Although, some have other reasons.
But regardless of these reasons, we need to combat the suicide in Nigeria. Now, how do you suspect that a person is likely to commit suicide, how do you even respond when someone shares their suicidal thoughts with you?
My dear friend, click the link below to find out.
All the methods of approaching a suicidal person were outlined in the article above, you can save a life by just reading, and you can save more than 1 life by sharing.
Let’s Say No To Suicide!
My dear friend, be sure to take your time to actually relax and rest this weekend.
Enjoy the rest of your long weekend!
With love, Wura from The Health City.
